So... It's been about 6 months since I last posted. A veeeeeery long time. Sorry.

I'm on vacation! I've spent the last few days catching up on a lot of the TV shows I've missed. I'm still catching up on Dr Who. Sigh... There's no site stuff is on the vacation to-do list. There's NOTHING on the vacation to-do list. ^_^ I'm going to relax if it kills me.

Sorry everyone. RL has been a total ass whip (and not in a fun way). Some family illness and a prison sentence (not for me!) have kept me off line for the last 2 months. I don't foresee things getting better any time soon. So, happy holidays and have a safe and happy new year.

Hugs,
Jen:)

My grandparents have given me their laptop! I'll try to spend all of this Saturday on fixing whatever the heck is wrong with BA & WLS. I'm seriously considering going old school with those sites. Nothing else has ever really worked.

I'm sorry I haven't been around much in the last year. I have 3 jobs (one full-time, 2 part-time), so free time is very rare. I'm working on a financial freedom plan that will allow me to be completely debt free in about a year and a half. So, little to no 'puter time for Jen. Sigh...

Well folks, my computer finally died this weekend. It's been dying a slow agonizing death for the past couple of weeks and it finally gave up. I had been backing up as much as time allowed, but I still lost some stuff. I am sharing a computer with my parents for the time being. Please be patient.

I AM still alive. I've just been working A LOT. It's been 10 hour days, 7 days a week for the last month. Uhg... Tired... Luckily I'm a bit of a workaholic so it's been kinda fun. I've got most of tomorrow off though! Woo-hoo! ^_^ I've been in touch with the fabulous Steve-the-code-genius and we've talked about creating a new automatic archive for the sites. The problem is my having very little spare time to go over specifics. I am trying, but RL loves to mess with my 'puter fun. ::sniff:: Here are a few things we've talked about:

* Members only archives: This would give me a bit of control over who can read the naughty stuff. The LAST thing I need is a pissed off caregiver of a minor child trying to nix my sites.

* Tighter security: So the annoying trolls of fandom can't create multiple profiles and bug the hell out of my authors.

That's as far as we've been able to get. Anyone have any ideas?

I have discovered the music Mecca. I am now totally addicted to iTunes.

Well, I survived our organization's yearly audit. Yay! We passed with flying colors. As if we wouldn't have. It's my job to make sure everything's perfect so, everything was perfect. ^_^

I'm axiously awaiting HP 7 to drop on my doorstep. I've been avoiding all the spoilers and theories because I want to be surprised this time. If he dies, I'm goning to be seriously annoyed.

Hello all! I hope my fellow Americans enjoyed their 4th celebrations. Ours was rained out, but I had a semi-relaxing day off. ^_^

On to the site stuff... I can't get the new version of efiction to work for me without a completely new install, which has really ticked me off. I'm looking for a new automatic archiving tool. Anyone know of any good ones?

Well, I've been trying to figure out efiction 3.3, but I'm not having a lot of luck. This may be a long term project guys. I refuse to give up my babies, so don't worry about the sites disappearing. They will be back! I'm going to start converting skins first. That may take all weekend. You may not see any real progress until next weekend. Sorry. I'm doing what I can with what time I have available. Please be patient with me.

Hugs,
Jen:)

Well, I think I should have waited until this weekend to attempt an upgrade. The sites won't be up tonight. Hopefully I'll have all the bugs worked out by tomorrow night.

Well folks, it has happened. I've been working my ASS off for 6 months for this and I finally got it. I've been given a sort of promotion. I'm working in the same position, but I've been upgraded to a higher level job title (and a higher pay grade). Basically, the Program Director is awarding me for being fantastic. ^_^ The raise is only $1.00 more an hour, but it will make a big difference in my "big debt pay-off" plan. I'll be financially free 6 months sooner. WOO-HOO! ^_^

Sites: I'm going to try something tonight. I'll let you guys know if it works.

Long time, no post. Yes, my sites are down. No, I don't know what's wrong other than it's a database issue. No, I don't have ANY spare time whatsoever to fix it. I don't know when I'll have the spare time to fix it. It may be a few weeks. I will NOT be answering any emails about the sites due to my total lack of free time. Please pass this info along to as many people as possible. I'll try to post again within the next couple of weeks.

Thanks,
Jen

From: MHG - SW Program Director
Subject: cps kids staying at the cps offices

I have more detailed info about what is needed and where to send or take these things. I spoke with Gina Caldwell at cps (817.255.8711) who is managing this CVS Crisis. She expects more kids to be in this situation. The 7 kids have been temporarily placed at All Church Home as of last night. More donations are needed.

Cash/check donations need to be made out to Community Partners of Tarrant County, and designated for: CVS Crisis. It is the 501c3 organization for cps that can accept donations. You can mail checks to Gina Caldwell , Child Protective Services 2700 Ben Avenue Fort Worth Texas 76103.

Food gift cards in amounts of $20.00 max are also a great idea and can be mailed to the above address as well.

Personal care kits are needed that include shampoo, comb, brush, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, lotions for the skin. In particular there is a big need for hair and skin care lotion products for black children and teens.

Snack and or food items, single serving are also needed. Things like microwaveable spaghettios’, chili, ravioli, juice boxes, chips, crackers, fruit cups etc.

Most of these children are teens although there has been a toddler recently who stayed at one of the cps offices. Ages have ranged from 2yrs to 14 yrs of age. Some children have had a foster placement breakdown and some children have been dismissed from facilities and their parents refuse to take them back home.

Thanks for all your help!

Subject: Critical Help Needed for CPS Children

Importance: High

Good afternoon everyone.

Finding placement for children who have been removed from their home due to abuse and/or neglect has become quite a challenge for our agency. You may have heard that we have children sleeping in offices due to a delay or inability in locating placement for them. This can be very uncomfortable the children we serve. While we work very diligently to locate placement all children must be supervised and have their immediate needs met at all times.

One of our most critical situations involves seven children who are staying at the Resource Connection Center in Fort Worth while we continue to search for placement for them. We have staff working around the clock each day to ensure the safety and well-being of these children. They have purchased meals for these children using their personal funds, but this is becoming very difficult to continue.

We are seeking the help of the community to provide meals for these seven children and would greatly appreciate your help with getting the word out to area faith based groups, civic groups, and other stakeholders who may be willing to assist us by providing food and beverages for these children.

Please ask those interested in helping to contact me via e-mail or at the phone number below. Thank you so much for your support and assisting us during this very difficult time.
